Virat Kohli was the Test skipper of the Indian team till the start of this year. After the Test series loss to South Africa in January this year, Kohli stepped down as Test skipper of India. Later, Rohit Sharma was named as the new Test skipper for India.

Rohit Sharma is the skipper of India in all three formats and his workload has definitely taken a toll on himself as well as the team. Rohit Sharma’s batting has definitely suffered as he has failed to score good knocks in recent times. India could not reach the final in Asia Cup 2022 and ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
Recently, they also lost an ODI series against Bangladesh. Hence, too much workload on a single skipper has affected the team’s performance. If Kohli takes up the skipper role in Tests, the workload will be divided and might bring better results.
