Asia Cup 2022 LIVE – India Squad Asia Cup, Indian Team Fitness Test: Team India led by captain Rohit Sharma will assemble at the NCA for a fitness camp starting August 20. From Bengaluru, the team will leave for Dubai on August 23. The team is on a break after the conclusion of the West Indies tour, with many going on short vacations before returning to India. Rohit and Co will return and undergo fitness tests at the NCA and will have a short camp in Dubai before the tournament opener against India vs Pakistan match on August 28. Team India stars will undergo a mandatory fitness test at the NCA before departing for the Asia Cup in UAE. Rohit Sharma and Co are currently enjoying a break from action following the conclusion of the West Indies tour. The team has dispersed with players spending some quality time with their families and friends before duty calls next week.
While the second string side led by Shikhar Dhawan will on tour in Zimbabwe, Rohit Sharma and Co. will assemble at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) on August 18. The players will undergo a mandatory fitness test and will board the flight to Dubai on August 20. There, India will hold a three-day training camp for the players to get used to the conditions on offer.
“The team will assemble at the NCA on August 18 and will have their fitness test, a mandatory protocol after a break. Players will leave for Dubai on August 23 and we will have a short camp before the Pakistan match,” a senior BCCI official told Insidesport.
Meanwhile, Deepak Hooda and Avesh Khan, who are part of both Zimbabwe ODIs and the Asia Cup will travel directly to Dubai after the conclusion of the series on August 22. They will be exempt from the training camp and mandatory fitness test but will join up with the rest of the squad on August 23. Deepak Chahar will also make the trip having been named standby for the Asia Cup 2022.
