Poland was awarded the penalty when the Barcelona striker was tugged behind by Herny Martin. Mexico dominated the numerical aspect of the game with ease, however, their wastefulness up front prevented them from scoring.

Group D: France Beat Australia 4-1
France kick-started their FIFA WC campaign on a splendid note as the Defending Champs THRASHED Australia 4-1. Australia got the dream start as Craig Goodwin gave the Aussies an early lead which was then turned around but quick strikes from Adrian Rabiot and Olivier Giroud. In the second half, Kylian Mbappe scored which was then followed by Giroud’s Brace.
