Ahead of the final ODI vs Bangladesh, injuries are the main concern for Team India. As of now, at least three players are confirmed to miss the third and final ODI of the series. Pacer Deepak Chahar, who only bowled three overs in the second ODI in Dhaka, was also ruled out of the final ODI as was fellow pacer Kuldeep Sen, who missed the match on Wednesday.
Bangladesh were able to continue their streak of not losing an ODI series at home since 2016 after surviving a scare from Rohit Sharma in the second ODI. They are without Tamim Iqbal, their regular skipper, and one can only imagine how deadly they would be with him back. Their fastest bowler, Taskin Ahmed, is also absent.
The skipper Rohit Sharma copped an injury to his finger in Bangladesh’s batting innings while attempting a catch. The ball hit his thumb and he was seen bleeding as he walked off. The BCCI later confirmed he had gone for scans after the BCCI medical team assessed him.
However, with India in dire straits in the run chase, Rohit Sharma walked out to bat at No.9, slamming an unbeaten 51 off just 28 balls to take India to the brink of an unlikely win.  He hit a six with 12 runs needed off two balls, but could only manage a single off the final ball as Bangladesh wrapped up a series victory with the five-run win.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz was injured while bowling his 7th over of the innings. He might miss the game if he isn’t fit to play. Yasir Ali might play in place of Mehidy Hasan Miraz if the all-rounder misses the game.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the hero in both games, scoring a vital unbeaten 38 off 39 balls as Bangladesh won by 1 wicket in a thriller in the 1st ODI while scoring a ton (100* off 83 balls) in the 2nd ODI. He was awarded Man of the Match in both games. He may be rested for the 3rd ODI with the series already won by Bangladesh.
Bangladesh Probable Playing XI:- Najmul Hossain Shanto, Litton Das, Anamul Haque, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Afif Hossain, Mahmudullah, Yasir Ali, Nasum Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman
Litton Das is leading the Bangladesh side after Tamim Iqbal was ruled out of the ODI series with a groin injury.  In the 2022 T20 World Cup, he scored 127 runs in 5 T20Is averaging 25.4.
He has scored a ton (121) against India. He has scored 5 tons in ODIs including a career-best 176 against Zimbabwe in March 2020. He top-scored with 41 off 63 balls in the 1st ODI against India. He scored only 7 off 23 balls in the 2nd ODI.
Najmul Hossain Shanto will open the batting with skipper Litton Das in the ODI series against India. He showed tremendous potential in the 2022 T20 World Cup for his side scoring 180 runs from five games at an average of 36.
He has another chance to impress the selectors in the upcoming ODI series. He scored a first-ball duck against India in the 1st game. Deepak Chahar took his scalp in the very 1st ball of Bangladesh’s innings in the 1st ODI.  He scored 21 off 35 balls batting one down before being bowled by Umran Malik in the 2nd ODI.
Anamul Haque has scored 3 tons including a career-best of 120 in his 2nd ODI against West Indies way back in 2012. He scored 169 runs in 3 ODIs against Zimbabwe in the preceding ODI series averaging 56.33.
He has also played 20 T20Is, the last of which came in the Asia Cup 2022 against Afghanistan. He scored 14 off 29 balls in the 1st ODI against India and 11 off 9 balls in the 2nd ODI.
Mushfiqur Rahim played his last ODI match in the ODI series against Zimbabwe in August earlier this year, where he managed 77 runs before the ongoing series. He has retired from T20I cricket and hence missed the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup.
The keeper-batter also has a good record against India managing the most career runs by any Bangladesh batter. His highest career-best score of 144 came against Sri Lanka in the 2018 Asia Cup. He scored 18 off 45 balls before being bowled by Mohammed Siraj in the 1st ODI.  He scored 12 off 24 balls in the 2nd ODI against India.
The all-rounder Mahmadullah last played in August and missed the T20 World Cup 2022 for Bangladesh for his poor form in T20Is. Mahmudullah scored 14 off 35 balls before being lbw-ed off Shardul Thakur in the 1st ODI against India. He didn’t bowl in that match.
The 36-year-old former skipper has scored 139 runs in 3 ODIs including a fifty (80*) in the last ODI series against Zimbabwe. He has also picked 82 scalps in his career including 1/33 in 3.5 overs in the 2nd ODI against India.
Mahmudullah scored 77 off 96 balls in the 2nd ODI against India and was involved in a 148-run stand with Mehidy Hasan Miraz (100*) after Bangladesh was reduced to 69/6.
Afif Hossain was Bangladesh’s vice-captain in the T20 World Cup 2022. The left-hander is seen as a potential leadership role for Bangladesh cricket in the future. In the last ODI series against Zimbabwe, he scored 126 runs in 2 innings including an 85* in the last ODI.  He scored only 6 off 12 balls before being debutant Kuldeep Sen’s first victim in the 1st ODI. He scored a first-ball duck in the 2nd ODI being bowled by Washington Sundar.
Shakib Al Hasan missed the previous ODI series that Bangladesh played against Zimbabwe. Shakib Al Hasan was named as the skipper of the Bangladesh T20I team for the Asia Cup 2022, the New Zealand tri-series, and the 2022 T20 World Cup. He had a poor T20 Word Cup 2022, scoring only 44 runs averaging 8.8 in 5 T20Is besides picking 6 scalps.
Shakib Al Hasan picked up 5/36 in the allotted 10 overs against India in the first ODI. He picked the vital scalps of skipper Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli besides picking Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, and Deepak Chahar’s wickets.
Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan recorded the best bowling figures by a left-arm spinner against India in ODI cricket history. He also chipped in with the bat scoring 29 off 38 in the 1st ODI and scoring 8 and picked 2/39 in the 2nd ODI against India.
Yasir Ali may play in place of injured Mehidy Hasan Miraz who scored 100* but could bowl only 6.1 overs picking 2/46 in the 2nd ODI. Yasir Ali has played 6 ODIs scoring 53 runs with 1 fifty besides playing 10 T20Is and 5 Tests.
Left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed will be the 2nd spinner after Shakib Al Hasan in Bangladesh’s predicted playing XI for the 3rd ODI against India. He was a part of Bangladesh’s T20 World Cup squad 2022.
He has played only 4 ODIs -3 of which came against West Indies in July 2022- where he picked 5 scalps. He was wicketless in the 2nd ODI against India (0/54). Hasan Mahmud who has picked 8 scalps in 6 ODIs is another option if Bangladesh wants to bolster its pace attack. Hasan Mahmud played the 1st ODI against India and was wicketless. (0/40 in 7 overs).

Mustafizur Rahman led the Bangladesh bowling attack in the absence of Taskin Ahmed who has been ruled out of the first ODI with a back injury. He was most economical against India in the 1st ODI and although he didn’t pick a wicket, he conceded only 19 runs in 7 overs including a maiden.
Mustafizur Rahman is Bangladesh’s second-highest wicket-taker against India. He picked 5 scalps in 2 ODIs against Zimbabwe in the last series averaging 14.8. He scored an unbeaten 10 off 11 in the 1st ODI against India and was involved in an unbeaten 51-run stand with Mehidy Hasan Miraz to steal the match from India’s grasp. He picked 1/43 in the 2nd ODI against India.
Ebadot Hossain will be another seamer for Bangladesh in the first ODI against India. He is one of their best bowlers in the current squad and was a part of the T20 World Cup. He has featured in only 3 ODIs picking 2/38 against Zimbabwe and 4/47 against India in the 1st ODI and 3/45 in the 2nd ODI against the Men in Blue.
