Former Pakistan National Cricket Team captain Salman Butt has made a huge remark on Rishabh Pant’s fitness, claiming that the India National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batter is overweight.
Rishabh Pant is currently involved in the first Test of the two-match Test series against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.

In India’s first innings, the 25-year-old wicketkeeper-batter smashed blazing 46 runs off 45 balls. Also, he had a good 64-run partnership in 73 balls with Cheteshwar Pujara that led India to recovery after being reduced to 48/3.
In a video shared on his official YouTube channel, Salman Butt talked about Pant’s batting performance against Bangladesh and said that the wicketkeeper-batter tried to play innovative shots in the innings. He opined that playing innovative shots would have been easier for Pant had he been fit.

“Rishabh Pant was playing the way he likes to, but he went for something innovative and got out. It was a weird dismissal as the ball hit the bat, pad before rattling the stumps. I always speak on Rishabh Pant’s fitness because the kind of shots he plays and tries to innovate, it would be easier for him execute those shots if he was fit. I think he is overweight,” he said.
Butt further said that Pant is undoubtedly overweight and as a result, he is not a very agile cricketer. The 38-year-old added that Rishabh Pant’s fitness is not up to the mark.
“Definitely, he is overweight and because of that, he is not very agile. He is under the level where he should be, in terms of fitness,” Butt said in a video uploaded on his YouTube channel.
Talkin about the match, in their first innings, India posted 404 runs on the board with the help of good half-centuries by Cheteshwar Pujara, Shreyas Iyer and Ravichandran Ashwin. Also, Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav contributed good 40s.
At stumps on Day 2, Bangladesh were at 133/8 in 44 overs with Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Ebadot Hossain not out and they were still 271 runs behind.
