The Indian batting lineup once again failed to stand up. Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan were dismissed cheaply. Shreyas Iyer scored 82 off 102 balls and added a 107-run stand with Axar Patel (54) taking them to 172/5 from 69/4.
India lost wickets in a heap before Rohit Sharma walked out to bat at number nine despite his injury on his left thumb earlier in the innings. He scored a quickfire 51 off 28 balls. India needed 200 off the last over from Mustafizur Rahman and despite Rohit’s best efforts, India fell short by three runs to lose the match and the series in the process.

The Men in Blue are now staring at a clean sweep. Heading into this ODI series, India won 30 out of the 36 ODIs played between the two sides.
