England created history in Pakistan by winning the series with one match to spare to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. The visitors beat the Men in Green by 26 runs in the second Test at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Monday, December 12. Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria has slammed Babar Azam for his consecutive failures in the second innings of the ongoing Test series.
Chasing 355 runs for victory, Pakistan were bowled out for 328 runs in the second session on the fourth day of the match. Mark Wood took four wickets for 65 runs as England has won their first series in Pakistan since 2000-01. England will conclude the test series with the third and final match in Karachi on Saturday.

Kaneria believes Babar Azam can’t handle pressure and failed to deliver when the team needed him most. He said that when there is no pressure, the Pakistan captain would score runs in the first innings but fails in the second innings.
“Babar Azam failed again. He scores runs in the first innings when there is no pressure. I don’t understand why he fails to score runs in the second innings when his team needs him the most,” Danish Kaneria said.
“Is he unable to handle the pressure? Is he the only first-innings player? Should we bring someone else other than Babar in the second innings?”
While chasing 355 in a must-win game for Pakistan, the 28-year-old scored only one run in the second innings of the Multan Test. Earlier, the right-hander was dismissed for four runs in the second innings of the first Test, which the hosts lost by 74 runs.
Kaneria claimed that he was booed by some Pakistani fans after his dismal performance against England in the second Test in Multan. Kaneria said that the big players can shine in the second innings, but Babar lacks the mental toughness to handle high-pressure situations.
“The fans in the stadium, even chanted about whether Babar can only score runs against Zimbabwe. Big players need to score in the second innings, but Babar has always failed in those circumstances. Test cricket is all about pressure and mental toughness. Babar fails there.”
Babar scored 630 runs in the fourth innings of a Test match at an average of 37.06 with one century in his 43-match Test career. He played a brilliant knock of 196 off 425 balls in the last innings of the second Test at Karachi against Australia.
