England will play a three-match Test series against Pakistan, with the first match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi, on Thursday, December 1, and the remaining two matches to be played in Multan and Karachi. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja stated that the Babar Azam-led team must win against the Ben Stokes-led side if they want to make headlines.
For the first time in 17 years, England will play a test match on Pakistani soil. They last toured Pakistan in 2005, when they were defeated 2-0. Pakistan are currently fifth in the World Test Championship standings with 51.85%, and Babar Azam’s men will be aiming to keep their hopes of making it to the final of the World Test Championship alive.

Ramiz Raja stated that he has not given up on the idea of having drop-in pitches for Pakistan’s big cities. The former skipper also stated that the current Pakistan team is capable of beating England, but much will depend on the pitches that both teams will play in the series.
“I have given just one message to the players that if they want to make world headlines they have to beat England in the series,” Ramiz Raja said.
“When Australia came earlier this year the pitches were freshly laid so they played differently, but now they have settled down quite a bit and we are expecting more sporting tracks against England,” he added.
Ahead of the Test series, England played a seven-match T20i series against the hosts in September–October in preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup. The Moeen Ali-led team won the T20I series against Babar Azam’s team by 4-3.
