Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed has a long 18-year history with the stadium where he claimed his first-ever international five-for.
Abrar Ahmed, a Pakistani spinner, had a fantastic debut to his international career on Friday, picking up 7/114 in his first Test.

Pakistan’s cricket team is hosting a three-Test series against England. England won the first match and now leads the series 1-0. The second Test is currently underway in Multan. On the opening day of the Multan Test, Abrar went through England’s star-studded batting order, confusing the batsmen, and bowled the hosts out for 281.
Abrar spread his magic and hunted the first seven players of England in his very first match. Abrar now shares first place on the list of Pakistani players who have taken at least seven wickets in their debut test innings. Mohammad Zahid and Mohammad Nazir had already accomplished this feat.

Not only did Abrar become the 13th Pakistan cricketer to win a five-wicket haul on debut, but he also made history by doing it in the first session of the first day. Abrar was in the role. And England had no response.
Abrar was a small boy when Virender Sehwag’s memorable triple century during India’s historic tour of Pakistan, scoring 309 runs, had an impression on him. Sehwag’s treatment of Saqlain Mushtaq, the current Pakistan Cricket team head coach, was the harshest of all the bowlers he destroyed. As the slaughter occurred in Multan, Abrar recorded notes.
“I still remember the Multan Test, where Virender Sehwag smashed that triple hundred, and he attacked Saqlain Mushtaq the most. Abrar Ahmed was about six, and he used to point out mistakes in Saqlain bhai’s bowling. My father got so annoyed because of the running commentary that he locked him in another room,” recalls Abrar’s brother Sajid in a conversation with The Indian Express.
Abrar appeared to be on his way to joining Jim Lanker, Anil Kumble, and Ajaz Patel when he took his seventh wicket on Day 1 but leg-spinner Zahid Mahmood took the final three wickets.
